Talamitam is a mountain that was named after the Talamitam trees that used to grow on its slopes, a
reminder of time when Talamitam had a healthy green vegetation and pure and clean ecosystems. Just like Mt. Batulao, we took 2 and a half hour to reach Mt.
Talamitam. And of course, we didn’t get bored while having our road trip with
my “barkada” because we were doing a lot of trips while on our way to Nasugbu,
Batangas.
Mt. Talamitam is also known as the “Sister Mountain” of Mt.
Batulao. What makes this mountain special is because, even though its height is
almost alike to a hill, it still brings adventure and thrill to the hikers and
tourists. And although it is not that popular, many mountain climbers and
tourists are still choosing Mt. Talamitam to do a hike. And as what I have
said, just like in Mt. Batulao, it also has an entrance fee worth 20 pesos.
That fee is for a cause and help to preserve the green nature of Mt. Talamitam.
Further more, if you are really planning to hike at Mt.
Talamitam, you won’t be need to bring a lot of things just like others do when
they’re hiking. What you need to bring is just your daily needs, a light pack
of things and you are ready to go! And in case if you want to have an overnight
stay, do a camp, star gaze and enjoy the cool breeze, no worries! There are
already provided camp sites at Mt. Talamitam. But bonfires and camp fires are
also prohibited because they prevent grass fire and nature destruction.
Talking about the green nature, Mt. Talamitam is also
covered with the Green Cogon grass that dances and flows every time the wind
blows. Its relaxing and calming view made me forget my problems for a moment.
I must say that if you’re looking for a place to unwind,
relax or meditate, Mt. Talamitam is one of the place to visit.
