If you want the best tasting Bulalo, try it in Batangas
because that is where the Bulalo originated. It is one of the tastiest soups.
The dish is composed of beef bones with the marrow still in it. Yum! I’ve
learned how to cook it, slow simmer the bone for at least 6 hours to produce a
clear broth that is enhanced with vegetables like young corn, petchay Baguio
and potatoes. Remove excess fat before serving, for both health and aesthetic
reasons.
Can you now imagine the comfort you could get with a bowl of
beef bulalo? Let the rain fall down the window pane as you take a spoonful of
this soup into your mouth down to your stomach. Oh, take Batangas bulalo as the
best and I couldn’t agree more.
Though, the Bulalo recipe is popular in Batangas, the soup
has also come in different variations depending on which city or place you eat,
but the very basic and most important ingredient in Bulalo is the bone marrow.
Most versions have some vegetables added like cabbage, pechay leaves, and
string beans, onions. Some also add corn on a cob.
Bulalo soup is a classic Filipino dish. It is a testament to
the frugal ways of Filipino cooks for whom no part of an animal should go to
waste. Bulalo is especially popular in the Southern Luzon provinces of Laguna,
Batangas and Cavite. In Tagaytay City in Cavite, bulalo soup is available
morning, noon and night time. Try this Batangas Bulalo!
