Deep Fried Tawilis

Tawilis is the native cuisine came from Batangas As i know It  usually served as a fried dish.  It is crispy and it's bones are soft you don't need to worry about hurting your throat. As I know many  eateries  and restaurant  in Tagaytay offers Tawilis dishes. but them all come from It's neighboring province and usually overpriced. In Batangas, tawilis is very affordable because of the low price yet very good taste. Anyways, You can have fried, paksiw, grilled, or in tomato sauce it depends on how you want to cook it.

Tawilis  are native  to Taal, which means that you can only find this cuisine there But now, many provinces are having this kind of cuisine. This dish is very popular in Batangas because of the freshwater sardines that notable for it's taste. Tawilis isn't endangered but overfishing intimidating their population. I want recommend tawilis if you haven't tried it before but for me the best place to taste this cuisine is in Batangas were it was originally came from.

A kilo of tawilis normally costs around 100-180 pessos, I think this price is depending on the season or weather, It's another product that Batangas can say "tatak batanggenyo", And we should take pride now that tawilis is becoming the main ingredients for the world's most famous, quite sosyal, dishes.

Great things come in small package. As I've researched Just like the ''Sardinella Tawilis'' of ''Freshwater Tawilis'' a small fish which can measure up to 15cm and weighs about 30 grams and you can only be found here in Batangas particularly in the Taal Lake.

Bring home the taste of this "deep fried tawilis". I'm sure that you'll never regret the time when you eat this awesome food, Every visitors of Batangas must gave a try to this cuisine. Besides this type of cuisine is very affordable yet the taste was quite sosyal.
