Panutsa or Peanut Brittle

By: Eulalie Alba 4

Do you know the sweet delicacy, panutsa? It’s made from Batangas’ with caramelized brown sugar and whole peanuts that we called in english Peanut Brittle. This delicacy will surely give enough sweet taste to your buds.

Taal Batangas is famous for its panutsa or we can called in english peanut brittle; it uses whole peanuts locally grown in Batangas. These tasty crunchy peanut brittle are in a round circular shape and they normally come in large or medium sizes. We all know that the sugar mixture has a distinct dark color and it identifies the Taal treat.

It is commonly sold in buses for incoming or outgoing trips to the province and in some stalls around Batangas. Most of the panutsas you see whenever you commute or when you go to a pasalubong center in Southern Luzon provinces are made in Batangas. It is known for making this simple yet very pleasing snack.

I really like panutsa  as they’re easier to eat and not too sticky. Although the large ones, have the most genuine panutsa taste contains enough sugar and nutty flavor.

So for everyone who wants to experience this sweet panutsa treat in Batangas, go visit and buy some panutsa for your "pasalubong" and taste some sweetness melting in your mouth.
